The latest update of the SSCIP Cup Green Building Creative Design Competition – the design of No.2 kindergarten of cluster 3 completed

The location of the kindergarten is well-developed, and the main people flow is through Xinchuan Avenue and the inner trunk road of the park to reach the school. A 14 meters wide road is to its west and a 9.5 meters wide road is to its south near a city park.

Design highlights: The design of the kindergarten takes Chengdu's climatic conditions as the starting point. The designers analyzed the site and space carefully and adopted a decentralized layout. The principle of green building is applied, shades are used to reduce the direct light in summer and increase the entry of winter sunlight. It is also used as a styling element of the facade. Some shades are movable and wooden grille is used to be consistent with the facade. The wooden grille in the window can be folded up to form a sunshade, which effectively blocks the direct sunlight when the children are performing indoor activities, and also creates a very good view of the landscape outside the window from the perspective of the room.
