The vision of SSCIP is to be a magnet to creative talents. It strives to be a new modern town supported by well-planned public amenities for international talents to work, live, play and learn. Currently, infrastructure construction in the park has been accelerated to offer basic services, among which, education amenities are attracting the most attention. Schools within SSCIP will be based on international education system and open education concepts from Singapore to develop vibrant and active campuses with international software and hardware education facilities.
Thirteen kindergartens, seven primary schools and two secondary schools are set to be constructed within SSCIP. In the first quarter of 2016, the conceptual design schemes of one middle school, two kindergartens and two primary schools have already been completed, and the construction of Xinchuan No.1 Middle School and the two kindergartens will be launched in the second half of this year. Meanwhile, planning and design of another two primary schools and three kindergartens will commence this year.
Xinchuan No.1 Middle School
Xinchuan No.1 Middle School, being equipped with high-quality landscape resources, is located in the Cluster 4 of SSCIP, close to the city greenway and wetland park. A number of kindergartens and primary schools are within the same area, just one-street away from the residences. Xinchuan No.1 Middle School will have 48 classes and 2,400 students, integrating smart technologies, modern concept, network and ecological gardens.
Kindergartens
Kindergartens in the park will be a playhouse, a home and a campus and introduce the concept of active leaning instead of passive teaching from Singapore to facilitate children to learn through playing games. In respect of design space, a comfortable environment with a home-like atmosphere will be created to give the children a sense of belonging. The curriculum design starts with nursery education for enlightenment, integrating moral education, intellectual education, physical education and aesthetic education to help children grow.
Currently, the conceptual design schemes of the No.1 kindergarten in Cluster 1 and No.2 kindergarten in Cluster 3 have been completed. The two kindergartens are close to the city’s greenbelt, boasting high-quality natural landscape resources. Moreover, a mature urban road system in this area provides excellent connectivity for the project.
Primary schools
The design concept of primary schools in the park will also introduce the international education model from Singapore with a learning environment that is more flexible, diversified and compatible with community functions to create a more distinctive, positive and vibrant campus. In addition, the schools also advocate the educational ideas of proactivity and diversified learning as well as highlight the creation of a pan-study space for children so as to free studying from the confinement of classrooms to the entire campus, including all the indoor and outdoor spaces, public and open area.
Currently, conceptual design schemes of the No.1 primary school in Cluster 4 and No.1 primary school in Cluster 3 in the north of the park have already been completed. The schools are equipped with a well-planed urban road system with convenient transport. No.1 primary school in Cluster 4 abuts Xinchuan No.1 Middle School in the east and is surrounded by residential houses. No.1 primary school in Cluster 3 faces green belts in both the north and east with excellent landscape resource.
