SSCIP Presented at SAPA-GP Annual Conference 2015

Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park (SSCIP) conducted its 2nd investment promotion trip this year to the United States, focusing East Coast and California area, from 17 – 26 June 2015. It is also SSCIP’s fifth US trip so far. During the trip, SSCIP was invited by Sino-American Pharmaceutical Professionals Association-Greater Philadelphia area (SAPA-GP) to attend the US-China Biopharma 2015, also known as the SAPA-GP 13th Annual Conference, at Villanova University in Philadelphia.

On 19-20 June, SAPA-GP held its Annual Conference 2015 at Villanova University. This year’s theme is “Bringing Transformational Therapy to Patients – Creating Value through Innovation”. Prominent scientists, senior executives, and policy makers from both America and China shared their ideas and insights on important industrial and academic topics. The opening night gala of Chengdu was sponsored by Chengdu municipal government. The prominent development and promising future of Chengdu was showcased in the gala dinner and captured the audience's attention.

Mr. Wilson Lee, Director of SSCIP (United States), leading the company's investment promotion efforts in the U.S. made a presentation entitled “Harnessing the synergies of Singapore, Chengdu and the rest of West China” in the conference. He addressed the twinning model of Singapore and Chengdu in biomedical sciences powered by the advanced industry development experience of Singapore and strong industry capabilities in Chengdu. He further highlighted SSCIP’s objective of establishing an International Outsourcing Services Hub and unique advantages. His speech received overwhelming positive feedback from the guests.

During the trip, SSCIP was also invited for meetings with leading international biomedical, medical device and media entertainment enterprises like Celgene, Boehringer Ingelheim，GSK, Illumina, Thermo Fisher, Qualcomm, Medtronic, Sony Pictures, sandisk and stryker. Through in-depth discussions with industry leaders, SSCIP obtained first-hand industry development trends to further sharpen its industry positioning to make the park even more attractive to internarial giants.
