SSCIP, on Behalf of CDHT, Delivered a Keynote Speech at BayHelix’s 13th Annual Conference

On January 10, 2016, BayHelix’s 13th annual conference was held in San Francisco, USA. On behalf of the Chengdu Hi-Tech Zone (CDHT), Singapore-Sichuan Hi-Tech Innovation Park (SSCIP) delivered a keynote speech at the conference.

BayHelix is an organization of leaders of Chinese heritage in the global life sciences and healthcare community with 15-years history. Senior executives from over 200 leading biomedical enterprises, including J&J, Novartis, Bayer Healthcare, SciClone, Thermo Fisher and WuXi AppTec, attended the conference to share options and forecast the development trend.

On behalf of CDHT, Mr. Wilson Lee, Director of SSCIP (United States), delivered a keynote speech, highlighting the investment environment in Chengdu and the incentive policies provided by CDHT. He also elaborated on how SSCIP has built an international biomedical ecosystem leveraging on Singapore’s industry development expertise and Chengdu’s rich resources.

In addition, Mr. Wilson Lee emphasized SSCIP’s strategic intent to create a complete biomedical industry ecosystem where enterprises can easily find partners for innovation and market expansion. Using Singapore’s Biopolis as a model, SSCIP is in the midst of building catalytic platforms to drive innovation, and integrating domestic and international resources to form a global biomedical hub.

A glimpse of the 13th annual meeting of the BayHelix Group

During the fortnight after the BayHelix conference, the investment promotion team of SSCIP conducted their first investment promotion trip this year to the U.S. It was also SSCIP’s seventh trip to the U.S. to attract investments. During the trip, SSCIP had meeting with several world-renowned biomedical companies, including Agilent, Amgen, Thermo Fisher Scientific and JOINN Innovation Park. Through in-depth discussion with these industry leaders, SSCIP obtained first-hand information about industry development trends and enterprises’ demands.
