First batch of Singapore firms ink deals to set up presence in Singapore Innovation Center

At the 19th Singapore-Sichuan investment and trade commission on September 14, 2018, Mr. Yin Li, Deputy Secretary of Sichuan Provincial Party Committee, Governor, Consultant of Singapore-Sichuan Trade and Investment Committee (SSTIC), and Mr. Ng Chee Meng, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Secretary-General of the National Trades Union Congress (NTUC), jointly unveiled the SSCIP Singapore Innovation Center (SIC).

SIC is based on the AI Innovation Center in the SSCIP, with a construction area of approximately 26,000 square meters. It includes Singapore International Manufacturing Innovation Center, Energy and Low Carbon Innovation Center, Singapore Enterprise Strategy Consulting Cooperation Center, Singapore Enterprise Management Training Center, Singapore Cultural and Creative Center and other centers to provide office space for Singapore enterprises to settle in Chengdu High-tech Zone, forming an industry. aggregation effect.

SIC will provide companies in the center with “one-stop” incubation acceleration services including financing, marketing, corporate promotion, etc., and will open the SSCIP market to the enterprises, such as smart city business and smart building operations, park planning and design, etc.

The first batch of projects that have been signed up include:

• Singapore Enterprise Center (Sembcorp Development Ltd）

• Sino-Singapore New Economy Transfer Center (iTechBlack）

• Technology Commercialization Initiatives (NTUitive Pte Ltd）

• Entrepreneurship and Innovation Initiatives (Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship, SMU)

• Sino-Singapore Start-up Innovation Hub (JN Capital)

• Sino-Singapore International Cooperation and Communication Center (SG Tech)

It is expected to have 150 to 200 Singapore and Sichuan enterprises set up shop in the Singapore Innovation Centre in the next two years as part of the Singapore-Sichuan Innovation Corridor Initiative.
